Is this an insurance policy?
- No. Evermore Stores is a supplies-and-storage service, not a regulated insurance product, and it is not covered by the FCA. We call it insurance because it works like it: a known cost for peace of mind.
How much emergency food and water should a UK household keep?
- The UK government's Be Ready advice is to keep at least 3 days of supplies at home, including 3 litres of drinking water per person per day, plus more for cooking and washing. Our packages go further: they cover 3 to 24 months, at 4 litres of water per person per day and three meals a day. Source: Be Ready checklist, GOV.UK
What does the UK government's Be Ready campaign recommend?
- Keep 3 days of bottled water and non-perishable food at home, along with a torch, a battery or wind-up radio, a charged power bank, first aid items, some cash, copies of important documents and any medication you need. Sign up to the Priority Services Register if you are eligible, and check your supplies every six months. Source: Be Ready checklist, GOV.UK
What is a 72-hour kit in the UK?
- A 72-hour kit is a set of supplies to get your household through the first three days of a disruption such as a power or water outage: bottled water, non-perishable food, a torch, a radio, a power bank, first aid items, cash, copies of documents and medication. It matches the 3 days the UK government's Be Ready campaign asks households to prepare for.
Where can I store emergency supplies if I have no space at home?
- In a self-storage unit. We keep your supplies in a locked unit at a major UK self-storage operator near you, so they don't take up room at home. You can visit the unit or ask us to deliver.
How does emergency food storage in a self-storage unit work?
- You pick a package. We buy the water, food and kit, pack it in sealed, labelled hard-plastic containers and place it in a locked unit near you. We track every use-by date and replace items before they expire. Fuel, power banks and batteries are kept at home, in line with typical storage licence terms.
Where is it stored?
- In a secure unit at a major UK self-storage operator near you, chosen for 24/7 access, CCTV and climate.
Can I visit it?
- Yes, any time the site is open, and many are open 24/7. Or request delivery.
What if I move?
- We move your reserve to a unit near your new home.
What happens when food or water nears its date?
- Freeze-dried food lasts up to 25 years; water is rotated about every 2 years. We track every date and replace items before they expire, priced at cost plus our standard margin, and tell you first.
Can I cancel?
- Orders aren't being taken yet. Before we take any payment we will publish full terms of sale, including your 14-day cancellation rights. Once you have a reserve, you can cancel storage at any time and we deliver your supplies to you; they're yours.
